A gestational diabetes story..
I’m not going to lie this time. It’s been forever weeks since I wrote and blog the last time and mainly because I was in a very unfun land with this pregnancy.
Don’t get me wrong, being pregnant is great (most of the time) and I love feeling Olivia growing inside my belly!
But times like “you have gestational diabetes” at 26 weeks kinda sucks. The first 20 weeks or so (I’m serious, yep, 20 weeks) I was sick as hell. I couldn’t sleep, couldn’t eat, I was in the bathroom after meals doing you know what, I ran out of breath quickly and yes, I even peed my pants #great!
Having to go on a diet while pregnant has been one of the most challenging situations I had to face so far. This is the one time my body just wants to eat the world and nah, I can’t have it.
No sugar, very controlled carbs and yay a lot of veggies and protein #meh. After crying a lot, being depressed, getting used to measure my sugar 4 times a day and now insulin at night (#eyeroll), I’ve learned about how to better balance everything even though sometimes I still miss my treats.
4 more weeks to go! Can’t wait to meet you little girl.
xoxo
