Tiny Food: Colourful Brigadeiros Recipe!

Every Christmas eve back home in Venezuela, we used to wake up to the sweetest smell in the kitchen that I still miss so dearly. It was my mom (and her little Maca waiting for them in a corner), making what we used to know as “trufas de chocolate”

I could swear it was so hard to prepare back then, until recently when I discovered that my darling, and long time loved trufas are THE easiest thing to do and are actually the most popular and traditional brazilian dessert called Brigadeiros!

You can find these magical balls dipped in many toppings: the classic version – sprinkles, coconut, pistachios, almond, and we could go on and on over here.

I couldn’t miss sharing this ultra-easy recipe with you, one of my favourite desserts of all time in this tiny food post: Colourful Brigadeiros.

The best advice I got from my mom *aka master cook expert* and my Brazilian friends when making Brigadeiros is: DON’T STOP STIRRING. If you want to have perfect balls, It takes about 10-15 minutes to thicken and a lot of patience.

Also, I usually cook them in low, making sure I have the right consistence from the beginning.

Did you know you only need 3 ingredients to make them? YES! butter, cocoa powder and condensed milk! Having Nico who’s extremely allergic to all nuts, this homemade dessert really changed us! He loves having one or two little balls in his lunch box and at home.

Are you hungry? I kinda knew it, so, let’s get to business, shall we?
