Tiny Food Christmas Edition: These Mini Salted Caramel DIY Pots!
It’s officially time for many days where Holiday baking, Christmas pijamas, festive movie marathons are the only activities we have in our agenda. At home, as soon as it is December 1st, I become the festive mama who adores allll the Christmas fun for my little ones.
This year, we’ve been into cooking way way more (due to my recent gallbladder diagnosis) and in all honestly, I’ve been LOVING it.
Even though this recipe isn’t one I’m able to indulge the way I’d love to right now, it is one YOU can and NEED to, ASAP. A yummy homemade salted caramel sauce is the perfect addition to any dessert, ice cream and even coffee this winter season.
In today’s post, I’ll show you this adorable DIY and tiny recipe idea as the prettiest Christmas present for your family and friends.
The recipe
This old fashioned caramel sauce is super easy to prepare and you’ll only need a few minutes and simple ingredients from your kitchen. Let’s do it!
Ingredients:
– 2 cups dark brown sugar (I used Redpath and it is absolutely perfect for this sauce)
– 8 tbsp butter
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 2 tbsp vanilla
– 1 tsp Kosher sea salt
Mix all the ingredients in a saucepan over low heat, whisking gently for about 7 minutes, until it is thicker. Let the sauce rest and serve in mini containers. If the caramel crystallizes, just warm gently for a few seconds and voila, brand new!
Let’s Add some magic: DIY the perfect salted caramel pots
Materials:
– Empty mini pots for the caramel sauce
– Crazy glue
– Fabric
– Elastics
– Mini pastel trees
– Embroidery floss
– Scissors
Steps how to:
Step One: serve the salted caramel sauce to the mini pot and let it rest. Using the crazy glue, glue a piece of round fabric to cover and decorate the lid.
Step Two: Secure the fabric to the lid with an elastic and top it with a cute mini colourful tree.
Step Three: Use your favourite embroidery floss colour to secure the tree on top of the top and add a piece of tape in the bottom.
