This simple yet delightful DIY colourful candle decorating technique allows you to upgrade and transform your plain taper candles into unique pieces of art (she’s the momeeeeenttttt).
Call your besties, get some plain candles and the materials below and let’s get started on this fun Galentine’s crafting adventure.
Materials Required:
- Plain taper candles (here are MANY plain colours available)
- Sticky wax yarn sticks (I got this pack)
- Scissors
Step one: Select your colours and design
Let’s start by selecting our sticky wax yarn colours that will complement each other or go for a single monochrome look.
Some pattern ideas I did and LOVED how they turned out:
– plaid or checkerboard
– waves
– grid
– stripes
Step two: Peel & Stick
You won’t believe how simple this DIY is: unwrap the sticky wax yarn from the packaging and carefully separate each yarn, to stick it directly onto your taper candle, yep – THAT simple.
Add a tiny bit of pressure to stick the colourful yarn and trim the excess at the end with your scissors.
