Montreal Indie Coffee Crawl: 4 Colorful Spots You Need To Visit Now

I remember a few years ago when I caffeinated across the city with my indie coffee passport and discovered Montreal has so many good Independent coffee shops (sorry Starbucks!) you can die for, and let’s face it, I’m a bit of a coffee snob over here. I’m in for all the good coffee, great aesthetic and of course some good comfy food any day of the week. Below is my first list of 4 colorful spots you need to visit now and enjoy a great sip of coffee for me. Hope you have lots of fun exploring the city!

La Graine Brulee

One of the most original coffee shops of the city where you can feel you’re in a real fair in the middle of downtown. If you’re feeling a bit blue because the dark mornings are already here, just head to this colorful spot where you’ll feel in wonderland as soon as you walk in. They offer comfort food, “grandma’s house style” including small snacks to go with your coffee.

Recommended: All-the-menu.

Tip: If you’re a fan a Stranger things, head to the bathroom right away for a full experience. You’re very welcome.

Cafe FerlucciThis traditional vintage tiny spot is located in Villeray (ooo Hello Villeray fellas!) with all the cute vibes you’ll want on a gloomy day. Loved the menu and cute staff, and their plant overload is a total dream.Recommended: Their Nutelatte. Yeah, a delicious Nutella-kind-of-latte.Tip: Walk around the hood, you’ll find beautiful and colorful floors as well.

Cafe SpoonBeirut playing along with a warm cup of cappuccino made my day when I first visited Cafe Spoon in downtown Montreal. This cozy spot will be your BFF if you’re looking for a relaxed and quiet place for work and study. Besides coffee, Spoon has a full menu including some yummy soups from SoupeSoup. Recommended: one big cappuccino with the scone of the day. To die for!Tip: Take the metro and enjoy downtown, parking can be a bit of a challenge in this area.

Oui Mais Non CafeColorful and cheerful, Oui Mais Non has possibly all the pretty details you’ve been dreaming about. I wanted to try the entire menu so I’ll make sure to go back to have a bit more. This coffee shop has a tiny boutique corner, where you can find some pretty cards, mugs and bags, all from local artists and all super cute.Recommended: Latte with almond milk +  butter croissantTip: It’s pretty busy in the mornings and most of the tables are common tables, make sure you arrive early to have a VIP spot (especially in front of the #fuckInstagram sign, lol)
