8 Ideal Spots to Have a Date (or more) in Montreal!

Where to have a first date in Montreal

Being a mama of two, and full-time parents, there’s one thing I’ve done religiously: plan dates at least once a week with no kiddos around running or interrupting our conversations every 2 minutes, because, this sounds familiar, eh?.

We usually never ever celebrate Valentine’s day, instead, we plan casual little dates during the week that helps SO much (and I’m sure it will help you as well). It’s pretty clear over here my love for pretty places and discovering new spots, new menus and new interiors, right?

In today’s post, I’ll show you 8 magical and ideal spots to have a date (or more) in Montreal.

Happy dating, my friends

Places to have a first date

A coffee date

Pastel Rita: Without a doubt, one of my forever-must-visit coffee places in Montreal. Their staff is friendly, their menu is filled with amazing options (I always have their salad of the day), and don’t even get me started on the interior design (because we’ll be here for at least a month).  So, if you haven’t visited yet, it’s about time!

Larry’s: all day breakfast menu with fresh (and well done) bacon? Larry’s knows how to spoil this girl! The intimate, cozy ambiance of this place gets me every-single time! and I’ve been recommending it to all my friends since they opened a few years back.

An italian-style date

Mano Cornuto: Hands down, one of the best italian I’ve tried in Montreal recently. We’ve tried their day and night menu and you cannot miss their schiacchiatas (focaccia sandwiches) that are OUT of this WORLD. Every sunday, they offer a full menu (entree, main and dessert) we also LOVED.

988 Ottawa Street

Vesta: Our latest discovery in Villeray! A neighbourhood classic italian restaurant serving pizzas, pastas and lot more. Beware: you’ll be craving for long, long time their pizzas (been there, done that). All their ingredients are locally sourced (love it) and it’s owned by the dream team the talented, Stefano Faita and Michele Forgione.

A quick & afforable option

Roch Le Coq: When I say fried you say chicken: FRIED CHICKEN! This tiny spot in Outremount really surprised us with an incredible crunchy chicken and the most amazing casual, fun staff makes it SO worth it. And honestly, there’s absolutely nothing better than a bucket of epic fried chicken, right?

1541 Ave Van Horne

Maneki Comptoir Asiat: As soon as you step in, you’ll get it, you’ll get me. Asian food is always in our top 3 cuisines we try when we go out for a date, and this soup lover just LOVES this place. Try their spicy Tom Yum and fried rice. both are SO good.

Let’s have a drink, or two!

Bar St-Denis: If you want to start your night in a cozy bar (we did this one a few weeks ago) try Bar St-Denis! Loved their minimal decor, their amazing caesars, their wine list and appetizers, a peerfect spot to have a successful first date (pinky promise).

6966 St Denis St

Stem Bar: You’ve seen my love for September Surf Cafe (the prettiest cafe in my hood, for real!) so I couldn’t hide my happiness when I noticed they recently opened a new bar right next door. The tiny (and ultra adorable) space seats 57 and is now open every Wednesday through Sunday, YAY!
