Montreal Indie Coffee Crawl: Top Insta-Friendly Spots in the City

If I had to pick only one social media platform nowadays, I’d bet everything for Instagram. I’m a real Instageek, Instalover and I even have Instafriends (no joke). When it comes to Insta-friendly spots and good coffee, Montreal got this and you’ll be sure I’ll be the first one visiting a huge list of new places to discover in the city. So, it’s time to keep you warm with a great list of neat coffee shops that will make your Instagram feed look so darn pretty.

Kitsune Espresso BarThis hidden spot beautifully designed has some serious tropical vibes in the heart of Griffintown, with a dreamy concept and a banana leaf wallpaper you’ll be dreaming about for a while. 50’s style furniture accents, a stunning neon sign in the middle of the bar and a yummy menu are the just the perfect little things you need to make a coffee shop simply, great.Recommended: a double shot espresso and any pastry, extremely delish and fresh.Tip: They have an indoor bike rack, free wifi, and plugs for your computers around the coffee shop.

Cafe BonitaCuban coffee all day, every day, right?Ps. latest update: I’m so saddened to hear this great coffee shop was completely destroyed by a recent fire last week. I really really hope you guys can reopen soon and we can enjoy your lovely colors, staff and coffee.

Cafe PistaAnother day, another great coffee at Pista. With a splendid interior, plenty of natural light, beautiful floor tiles and the smell of fresh croissants, this little shop got me at the first visit. Loved how the staff elevated a regular coffee break to a superb one.Recommended: a cortado with a fresh croissant.Tip: Great for a shoefie (tiles on point) and for a bagfie (like the one I took above). You’ll feel super relaxed, so please enjoy a quiet morning with your BFF in here, anytime!

La Finca Cafe & BureauOne of the latest additions near downtown Montreal with a spectacular bricked wall and a delightful boho style I adored. You can meet your friends, have a splendid snack, a perfect coffee and plan a business meeting at La Finca. From toasts, sandwiches and soups to some hyper delicious sweets to pair a perfect coffee.Recommended: A macchiato with a yogurt bowl, served with fresh fruits and a splendid granola.Tip: You can schedule a meeting with coworkers or clients and easily rent a private room by hour. There are 3 available and prices start at $20/hour. More info, here.

Leaves CafeThis little gem in the heart of downtown Montreal is the brand new all-vegan coffee shop of the city. As soon as you step through their door, you’ll enjoy the white overload of their characteristic minimal decor, a charming ceiling full of string lights (they had me at string lights), pretty shelves full of cactuses and small plants.Recommended: A cappuccino with almond milk (they serve coconut, soy and almond).Tip: Parking is a bit complicated so make sure you take the metro and enjoy the walk up to Leaves Cafe.
